【4】My mother 我的妈妈

 My name is Jessie. I am twelve. I love my mother,

her name is Miss Xiao. She has black hair and two 

big eyes. She is a very beautiful woman. My mother 

works in a hotel. She is a manager. She likes fish and 

vegetables, but she doesn’t like meat or chicken. 

My mother can cook, sing and read, but she can’t

 fly. Her cooking and singing are both very good.

This is my mother!

【5】My best friend我最好的朋友

My best friend is Xiao Yi. She has short hair. She has

two big eyes and a small mouth. She is tall and thin. 

She lives on the tenth floor of a tall building. There

are five people in her family.

Xiao Yi likes doing sports. She likes to play badminton

and volley ball. Her favorite color is pink. Her favorite 

food is fish and vegetables, because they are healthy. Her hobby is reading books and riding a bike. She

often plays the computer games or goes shopping 

on the weekend. 

Sometimes we go to KFC together. We go there by car.
I like my best friend—XiaoYi. We are good friends.

【6】My Family Members 我的家人

I am student of Southwest Weiyu Middle School. I am in Class Two, Grade Six. I’m a girl. I’m twelve years old. I’m tall and thin. I like to sing and dance. I can sing POP music very well. I like to eat meat, because I think it’s very delicious. I’m good at English, because I like it very much. I like to write a composition and I like to read many nice books. I think it’s good for me. I like drawing, but I can’t draw very well. I like cats very much, but I can’t have them, because my mother doesn’t like them, she thinks they’re very dirty. I want to travel around the world, but I haven’t enough money. But I’m happy, because I have many friends and a happy family. 　

　My mother is a shop assistant. She’s thirty-six years old. She’s tall and thin, too. She’s pretty. Her hair 

is short and straight. She likes to sing and she likes Zhang Xueyou’s songs and English songs. She likes to 

eat crabs. She always goes shopping with me. She’s good at maths. When I have problems with maths, 

she will help me. She doesn’t like pets; because she

 thinks they are dirty. I like my mother very much. 　

My father is a manager. He’s forty-six years old. But he looks like very young and handsome. He always

goes to park with me. He likes to smoke. But I think 

smoking is bad for his health. He likes English songs. 

He’s good at Chinese. He sometimes helps me to write a composition. My father likes pets very much. I 

like my father very much. 　
　My grandmother and my sister live together. My grandma is sixty-three years old. She has retired. My sister

 is a student of fourteen years old. She has two big eyes and long straight hair. She’s a small famous 

singer in her city. She likes to sing and dance. She cansing verywell. She joins in many competitions and she always be champion.

【7】My Class我的班级

There are thirty-three students in my class. They are all my classmates and friends. Five of them are my good friends. They are Gloria, Lucy, Lilian, Rone, and Dana. We usually study together and play with each other. We are happy together every day. Gloria is good at math. When I have questions about math, I always ask her for help. Dana is good at music. We usually listen to music together. Lucy and I are interested in English. We often learn English together. Rone studies geography and history. Of all the subjects, history is the most difficult to me, so I often ask Rone to help me. We are going to graduate in June. I think I will remember them forever. I also hope that we will stay in touch after we graduate.

【8】My School我的学校

　　 My school is very beautiful. It is Dongfang

Experimental School. There are three tall buildings in

our school. They all have five floors. In the teaching

building, the P.E.room is on the first floor. The library 

is on the second floor. The science rooms are on the 

third floor. The computer rooms are on the third 

floor and the fourth floor. The music rooms are on 

the third floor and the fourth floor. My classroom is 

on the fifth floor. I am in Class9, Grade 6. There are 

five gardens in our school. In the gardens there are 

many beautiful flowers, grass and trees. There is a 

big playground in my school.

　　 I like my school, because it is very beautiful.

【9】What is family ? 家庭是什么？

　　 Everybody has his own family. What is family ?

 I don’t think everyone really knows. There are six

letters in the word “ FAMILY ”. I think “ F ” means“father”, “A” means “and”, “ M ” means 

“mother” , “ I ” means“ I”, “ L” means 

“ love” and “ Y ” means“you”. 

So “ FAMILY ” is the short form of “ Father and 

mother , I love you.” Don’t you think so ? Father

and mother love us , and we love father and mother. 

That’s a happy family.

【10】 My father‘s Day 爸爸的一天

　 My father is very busy. Every day he goes to work 

by subway. He teaches math at school, His math is 

very good! In the afternoon, he eats lunch at school. 

After lunch, he reads newspapers. Then he goes 

home at 5:30. He eats dinner. Then, he takes a bath 

in the evening. He watches TV in the living room. 

After watching TV, he goes to bed at 10:00.

　　 My father works hard. I like my father very much!

【11】My pet我的宠物

Recently, three owls appeared suddenly on our campus. They made me think of my pet from childhood. When I was little, we had an owl at home. It was small, gray, and had two big eyes. We liked it very much. Every time I went home, it greeted me by making “goo-goo” sounds. We always played with it and talked to it. It would blink its eyes just like it understood what we were saying. It was like my best friend. But when the weather became colder, we forgot to keep it warm, and it died. It made us sad for a long time, and it also taught me how important it is to take care of animals.

【12】My Family 我的家庭

My family lives in Shenzhen. There are four people in my family. They are my father, my mother, my sister and I. My father is tall and thin. He is a handsome man. He has big eyes. His hair is straight. He likes to watch TV and movies and read books. My mother works in an office. She cooks very well. She likes to read books, too. She is short and thin. My sister is a student. She is an independent girl. She is very graceful. I am a student, too. But I study in a junior high school. I go to school every weekend. I like to play dodge ball and listen to music very much. much. I like my family because each family member helps me a lot.

【13】A library 图书馆

A library used to be only a building with a lot of books and a very quiet place to me. I had never wanted to enter a traditional library because it was a boring place for a child. Since I became a senior high school student, I have more homework that requires me to find the latest information on a topic or some good ideas. So I got into the habit of going to the library, and I can‘t tell you how wonderful it is! There are so many interesting books I‘ve never read, including novels and books about science and computers. Most important of all, there are even a lot of famous classic films, which are very popular. Now I also have something else to do when I‘m in a library: studying. 【14】Money金钱

Money is indeed important, but money cannot buy everything. A miser may think that “money talks,” but if you only give your attention to making money, you may lose many things, such as health, friendship and love. I don‘t think we should regard money as everything. Money is just a tool that can help us solve problems or enable us to live a comfortable life. What we should do is to use it appropriately and not become misers. This way, all of us can lead a happier lives.

【15】Cartoons 漫画

There are many television programs in Taiwan today, from TV series, quiz shows, soap operas, movies to cartoons. Of all the programs, I like to watch cartoons the best, like Cartoon network, Disney and many others. I like to watch cartoons because they are funny and very interesting, especially when I am sad, tired or bored. I also like cartoon characters. They are so cute and vivid. We must use our imagination when we watch cartoons. Because they are often exaggerated, so you need to have a sense of humor.
