沉默誓言

有一个地处偏远的修道院，隐藏在森林深处。修道士们需要遵守严格的沉默誓言。这个誓言只有在每年的圣诞节可以被打破。只有一名修道士可以说话。并且，只能说一句话。

有个圣诞节，轮到托马斯修士发言。

他说：“我喜欢圣诞节烤肉时吃的美味土豆泥！”

说完，他就坐下。沉默持续了365天。

下一个圣诞节，轮到马可修士发言。

他说：“我觉得土豆泥里有碎块。我很不喜欢它！”

再次，沉默持续了365天。

接下来的圣诞节，保罗修士站起来说：“我受够了这种无休止的争吵！”

注：这是一则冷笑话。暗示人类社会总是存在不同意见。不说话不等于没有不同意见。再安静的社区，也会有争吵。

原文： Vow of Silence

At a remote monastery deep in the woods，the monks followed a rigid vow of silence。This vow could only be broken once a year on Christmas，by one monk，and the monk could speak only one sentence。

One Christmas，Brother Thomas had his turn to speak and said：“I love the delightful mashed potatoes we have every year with the Christmas roast！”

Then he sat down。Silence ensued for 365 days。

The next Christmas，Brother Michael got his turn，and said：“I think the mashed potatoes are lumpy and I truly despise them！”

Once again，silence ensued for 365 days。

The following Christmas，Brother Paul rose and said：“I am fed up with this constant bickering！”
