盲人飞行员

一天，在一个繁忙的机场，乘客们正坐在一架商用客机上。他们在等待飞行员的到来，以便开始他们的航程。

正、副驾驶终于在飞机的尾部出现。他俩通过机舱座位的中央过道，走向飞机头部的驾驶室。两人看上去都是盲人。

正驾驶使用一根白色的手杖，在走道上蹒跚而行。不时会撞到坐在左右两旁座位上的乘客。副驾驶则牵着一只导盲犬。他俩都戴着太阳镜。

起初，乘客们不以为然。认为这一定是某种恶作剧。几分钟后，发动机开始高速旋转。飞机沿着跑道向前移动。

乘客们开始心怀不安，面面相觑。他们彼此之间交头接耳，并惊恐地看着空姐。希望从她那里获得解疑。

然而，飞机开始快速提速。人们变得有点惊慌失措。一些乘客开始祈祷。随着飞机越来越接近跑道的尽头，乘客恐惧的尖叫声也变得越来越歇斯底里。

当飞机离跑道的尽头仅剩下不到20英尺时，众人的尖叫声刹那间不由自主地同时升高了八度。就在这高八度的最后一刻，飞机离地升空。

在驾驶室里，副驾驶松了一口气，对正驾驶说：“你懂的。如果哪一天乘客不再尖叫，我们就不知道什么时候该拉杆起飞了！”

One day at a busy airport，the passengers on a commercial airliner are seated waiting for the pilot to show up so they can get under way。

The pilot and copilot finally appear in the rear of the plane and begin walking up to the cockpit through the center aisle。Both appear to be blind。

The pilot is using a white cane，bumping into passengers right and left as he stumbles down the aisle。The copilot is using a guide dog。Both have their eyes covered with sunglasses。

At first，the passengers do not react thinking that it must be some sort of practical joke。After a few minutes though，the engines start revving，and the airplane begins moving down the runway。

The passengers look at each other with some uneasiness。They start whispering among themselves and look desperately to the stewardesses for reassurance。

Yet，the plane starts accelerating rapidly，and people begin panicking。Some passengers are praying，and as the plane gets closer and closer to the end of the runway，the voices are becoming more and more hysterical。

When the plane has less than twenty feet of runway left，there is a sudden change in the pitch of the shouts as everyone screams at once。At the very last moment，the plane lifts off and is airborne。

Up in the cockpit，the copilot breathes a sigh of relief and tells the pilot：“You know，one of these days the passengers aren't going to scream，and we aren't going to know when to take off！”
