上星期六的天气大概是一年中最好的,不冷不热,清风徐来,密西根湖边的肯诺夏和平公园到处是绿草及缤纷的花卉,悠闲的白鸥在低空飞翔,或在沙滩上漫步,几个家庭在野餐,小孩在戏水。不远处几张白帆,把水天点缀得更清净蔚蓝。没有比在这样一个宁谧祥和的地方举办促进人类和平的诗与音乐的聚会更合适的了。下面是《为悲伤的母亲们打打气》现场的一些照片,还有当天的节目单,同大家共享:

Afaa Michael Weaver, a Professor and Alumnae Endowed Chair, Simmons College—Boston is considered the black Walt Whitman. Please visit his website at www.afaamichaelweaver.com.

 

Dr. Elma Photikarm, Editor of Poems of the World from Palatine, Illinois is a multi-award winning poet and a world lecturer on poetry.

 

Dr. William Marr, Ph.D., a nuclear engineer, of Chicago is considered the “best American poet writing in the Chinese language today”. Please visit his website at http://home.comcast.net/~wmarr9/english.htm

 

Prasad Gollanapalli, Founder and Trustee of the Gandhi-King Foundation of India, is a Gandhian scholar and world lecturer. www.gandhikingfoundation.org

 

Ashley Dennis is Miss Kenosha 2011 and a Middle School PE teacher in Racine.

Laurie Lewis, a Baptist Minister’s daughter, is a mother and Racine Gospel singer.

Stacey Mia, born & raised in Hawaii, is a prolific singer/songwriter & ukulele player.

 

John Bush, a 12-year old St. Joseph's Academy student, is a gifted singer.

 

Father George John Kuyappil, a priest of the Missionaries of St. Thomas Order—India and Chicago—is a visiting Chaplain at St. Joseph’s Home in Kenosha.
