Simvastatin in the treatment of chronic heart failure：a report of 138 cases

    Abstract:Objective To determine the therapeutic benefits and safety of Simvastatin in the treatment of chronic heart failure.Method A total of 138 patients with chronic heart failure were split randomly into two groups (the control groups and the treatment groups). The control group received standard treatment for chronic heart failure. In addition to this, the treatment group also received Simvastatin(20 mg), once a day for 6 months. For all the patients, their heart rates were checked before and after this treatment. Their heart function, including LVEF and LVDD, was also monitored using Ultrasonic Doppler. Results For the treatment group, 39 cases (26.5％) showed significant improvement,while 142 cases (96.5％) showed improvement. For the control group, 20 cases (13.8％) showed significant improvement,while 127 cases (86.39％) showed improvement. There was statistically significant difference between the treatment and the control groups(P＜0.05). After the 6-month treatment, the differences of heart rate, LVEF, and LVDD between the two groups were also found statistically significant (P<0.01).Conclusion This study demonstrated the therapeutic benefits of the addition of Simvastatin to the standard treatment for chronic heart failure.

    心力衰竭是临床常见病，是心脏病的主要死因，严重影响患者的生活质量和生命安全。近年来的治疗原则发生了很大变化。他汀类药物应用于慢性心力衰竭的治疗不断得到推广。我院采用辛伐他汀治疗心力衰竭，取得良好效果，现将报告如下。

1  资料和方法

1.1   一般资料：选择我院2006年1月～2007年5月入院患者138例，按NYHA心功能分级，选择心功能Ⅱ～Ⅳ级的患者，随机双盲法分为两组，每组69例。治疗组：男38例，女31例，年龄30～84岁，平均64岁；其中冠心病28例，高血压心脏病16例，风湿性心脏病8例，扩张性心脏病9例，老年心率瓣膜病8例；心功能Ⅱ级30例，心功能Ⅲ级28例,心功能Ⅳ级11例。对照组：男36例，女33例，年龄31～82岁，平均62岁；其中冠心病30例，高血压心脏病15例，风湿性心脏病10例，扩张性心脏病7例，老年心率瓣膜病7例；心功能Ⅱ级29例，心功能Ⅲ级26例,心功能Ⅳ级14例。
