(一)创设情境,导入新课[Create plots and scenes to guide the new
lesson]
First of
all, get the students to show their bulletin board to the whole
class and introduce the bulletin board orally. The teacher should
comment who did best. Then, the teacher guides the new lesson by
showing flashcards. Get the students to look at the form of the
flashcards in part la and match the sentences with similar
meanings. And then, get them to make sentences with the verb
phrases in part 1b. Give the students some help when they finish
the teaching tasks of part 1a – 1b.
(二)自读感知,整体把握[Pre-read to apperceive and grasp the whole]
Go on
talking about volunteering and learn some important phrasal verbs
and words and some English idioms. Learn to take notes. These are
the main task and content of section B.It’s designed by three
steps. In 1a - 2c,get the students to learn some important verb
phrases by matching, making sentences and listening ; In 3a - 3b,
students do some reading and writing to practice the phrasal verbs.
In part 4, the students brainstorm a plan for helping out in the
community and making some notes.
(三)合作交流,解读探索[Cooperate and intercourse to unscramble and
research]
The main
content in section B is to talk about volunteering and learn to use
some important phrasal verbs. At the same time, make the students
think about how to help others.
Step
1展示[Show]
The
teacher shows the form of the flashcards in part 1a to the whole
class and gets them to match the sentences with similar meanings.
Finish the teaching task of part 1a.
Step
2应用[Application]
Get the
students to make sentences with the verb phrases in the box using
their own ideas. Finish the teaching task of part 1b. Give the
students some help if necessary.

3体验[Experiences]
(1)Play
the tape of part 2a, students listen and number the pictures [1 -
4] in the correct order, finish the teaching task of part 2a.
(2) Play
the tape of part 2a again and ask the students to tell “T” or “F”
of the following statements. Finish the teaching task of part
2b.

4活动[Activities]
Get the
students to do pairwork, practice and role play the conversation
between Jimmy and the reporter using the information from the
listening practice. Finish the teaching task of part 2c.

5阅读[Reading]
Get the
students to read the article in part 3a and underline all the
phrasal verbs and then make a note of the things that Jimmy did to
help others. Finish the teaching tasks of part 3a-3b.

Get the
students to do some thinking, writing and speaking practice.
Students brainstorm a plan for helping out in the community. Make
notes on where they will help and what they will do. Then tell the

小结[Summary]
The
content of this unit is to talk about how to offer help to others.
And learn to use some important phrasal verbs and English idioms.
At the same time, teach the students how to make notes, encourage
them to offer help to others.
应用[Application]
Get the
students to do this activity. If you are a member of the Blue Sky
Club at school. Suggest some things the club might do to help
people in your town. Use some phrasal verbs from this unit. This
activity may bring the students great interest. It will help the
students to practice the target language and grasp the usage of the
verb phrases in this unit.
反思[Pondering]
A good
teacher with much experience, he / she should not only teach the
students some knowledge, but it is more important to teach the
students how to learn by themselves. So the teacher should guide
the students to preview the texts. First, the teacher should think
over how to make the students get much new information and
knowledge by themselves before the teacher teaches the new lesson.
On the other hand, we must think about how to help the students
find the contact between the new and the old, once the students
finish learning a text or a unit. The teachers are supposed to
guide them to sum up the emphasis and difficulties. The teachers
should make the students learn English more effectively by doing
