美国机场看外国人的素质(图)

Sorry for the late reply. It is not easy to get online here and no Chinese input system. I am travelling around Indian Ocean islands these days and currently staying in Seychelles, a group of tiny rock islands between Mauritius and Maldives. Regarding the over 1000 comments on my opinion and my personality, I would like to say: it is true that I am not a good guy who are willing to help anybody at anytime and anywhere. But I do give helps to people who need them indeed.
2 days ago on the flight to Mauritius, I filled immigration forms for three Bangladesh workers, who have no idea how to write. At the same time, hundreds of entries were inputted into my blog saying that I am a mean person (politely) or pig head (impolitely). By the way I was watching my favorite moive, LP Man (Ye Wen) when the bangladesh workers approaching to me.
Whether offer a help or money to someone else is one's personal choice. For me, I never give a free lunch to strangers who are able to earn it by themselves. If we do so, we will spoil the market. For example, I read someone's comment on my travel notes in Africa saying that if he/she was me, he/she would have given 5 dollars cash to the poor uneducated young man living in the samll village. Actually that is not a responsible traveller should do (according to lonely planet guide books), because the young man may expect a 5 dollars note from anybody who visit his village. It is better to donate your money to an edutional fund, which can make the young man educated.
Back to the case mentioned in my article, I would not offer the help to that guy because I could tell 10 dollars is not very important for him from his face. He should not bother others for 20 mins to save just 10 dallars.

虽然西方人的整体素质挺高的，但这是几百年工业化的结果，并不说明东西方有什么本质上的差别，在旅行中我遇到过许多很过分的外国人，绝对不比某些非常过分 的东方人差。相反，当这些西装笔挺的西方人撕下文明的面具时，他们往往更加无耻，更加过分。今天凌晨我在机场整理我的图片时，一个衣着整齐，看起来非常机灵聪明，穿着休闲西装的中年白人走过来问我，是不是在上网，我说没有啊，心里还在想，我上网和你有关么？接着他问我“哪里能买票”，我指着远处的柜台说，那里有人卖票。

他走了几步后转身回来，问我有没有打印机。我当时差点儿笑出来，谁会背着打印机旅行呢，除非是有商业任务，才会带那种超级小的打印机。这时候他才说出了自 己的真实目的，原来他想用我的电脑买票。为什么不去柜台买呢？他的回答是，网上便宜。我知道他要买那家航空的机票，网上也就便宜10-20美金。看他的样子，每年至少也有几万美金的收入。为了省这点儿钱，你竟然要麻烦一个陌生人，给你提供电脑，提供打印机，然后等你用20-30分钟买票？真不知道这些西方人在想什么，虽然中国有许多素质不太高的人，但这种基本的常识（不要麻烦别人）大家还都是有的。
作为美国最重要的旅游城市，太平洋上最重要的交通枢纽之一，每年去往夏威夷的旅客是当地人口的无数倍。这使得夏威夷的机场看起来比美国其他机场更加干净和有序，内部装潢上多少会考虑到游客们的心理，使当地考究和奢华一些。机
场内大部分的室内墙壁和家具都用了棕色的天然木板为材料，让人感到高雅的同时，还能体会到一种大自然的气息（实际上是砍树的结果）。毫无疑问，夏威夷的机
场时美国最好的机场之一，从游客的角度上讲，是这样的。就连航班信息的电视柜也被包上了厚厚的木头，这在政府花纳税人钱的美国的确不多见。美国是一个亲本
地人，轻游客的国家，而夏威夷可能是一个特例，旅游是这个四面环海的洲的重要经济来源。无论如何，我很喜欢这样的设计，因为我只在这里待上一小段时间，我
并不关心是谁从谁那里拿了钱，干了这些事情。

软件和硬件服务也都很到位，记得在LA机场里，连一张彩色地图都没有。夏威夷就完全地旅游经济化了，电话，电脑，各种彩色的免费宣传品和地图。你可以不知
道自己姓什么，但很难不知道在夏威夷你应该怎样度假。机场还有Shuttle
bus可以送你去城里的任何地方，价格在9美金单程，15美金往返。taxi将使得价格翻2-3倍。只可惜机场里过夜的人，横七竖八地毁掉了躺了一大片，让人看了怎么都不太舒服，这就是民主和自由？我看这里和印度火车站也没什么差别。我还是喜欢干净有序的亚洲大城市的机场，就算睡也别这么夸张嘛。

外国人讲文明，团结，素质高都是在他们拍的电影和电视剧上看到的，等你真正去了纽约，伦敦，可能你晚上连出门买吃的都不敢。”
