女孩向建筑工人学习

一个年轻的家庭搬进了一栋旁边有块空地的房子。

一天，空地上来了一队建筑工人，开始在那里建造房子。

5岁的女儿对隔壁空地上所发生的事情很感兴趣。她每天花很多时间观看工人干活，而工人们则把她当作该建筑项目的一个吉祥物。他们和她聊天。在午休和喝咖啡的时间里，他们让她坐在他们身边。并且，他们还给她一些小事情去做，让她觉得自己很重要。第一周结束时，他们甚至送给她一个装有10美元工资支票的信封。

原文： Kid learning from construction crew

A young family moved into a house next to a vacant lot。

One day, a construction crew turned up to start building a house on the empty lot。

The 5-year-old daughter took an interest in the activity going on next door and spent much of each day observing the workers，who adopted her as a kind of project mascot。They chatted with her，let her sit with them while they had coffee and lunch breaks，and gave her little jobs to do here and there to make her feel important。

At the end of the first week，they even presented her with a pay envelope containing ten dollars。

The little girl took this home to her mother who suggested that she take her ten dollars “pay” to the bank the next day to start a savings account。

When the girl and her mom got to the bank, the teller was equally impressed and asked the little girl how she had come by her very own pay check at such a young age。

The little girl proudly replied：“I worked last week with a real construction crew building the new house next door to us。”

“Oh my goodness gracious，”said the teller，“and will you be working on the house again this week，too？”

The little girl replied：“Yes，if those assholes from the lumber yard ever deliver the goddamn sheetrock。”
