高尔夫球场上有个人站在他的发球区，似乎是没完没了地在那里一会儿抬头看看，一会儿低头看看，一会儿测量距离，一会儿计算风向和风速……把他的打球搭档逼疯了。

最后，他的搭档愤怒地说：“你搞什么鬼要花那么长的时间？打那个该死的球不就行了吗！”

那人回答说：“我老婆正在俱乐部的接待厅里看着我。我想打出完美的一击。”

“算了吧！你根本不可能从这里将那该死的球击中她。”

注：英语“Snowball’s Chance”意思是“没有机会”，或“微乎其微的机会”。因为雪球不会长久保持它的形态，很快就会融化成水。通常用于否定句的表述中。

原文： The Perfect Shot

A guy stood over his tee shot for what seemed an eternity，looking up，looking down，measuring the distance，figuring the wind direction and speed……driving his partner nuts。

Finally his exasperated partner says：“What the hell is taking so long？ Hit the damned ball！”

The guy answers：“My wife is up there watching me from the clubhouse。I want to make this a perfect shot。”

“Give me a break！You don't stand a snowball's chance in hell of hitting her from here。”
