贪心吃白粥

一群女友在度假。她们看到一家5层楼高的酒店，牌子上写着“仅供女性入内”。由于她们都是单身，决定进去看看。

门卫是一个非常有魅力的家伙。他向她们解释酒店的规则。

“我们有5层楼。只能一层一层地往上去。一旦你满意那一层所提供的服务，你就可以留在那里。每层楼面都有一个标牌，告诉你那里有什么。因此，很容易做出决定。”

于是，她们开始往上走。

一楼的标牌上写着：“这层楼的所有男士都又矮又丑。”

这些女友们大笑。她们毫不犹豫地走向二楼。

二楼的牌子上写着：“这里的男人很帅，但很矮。”

仍然不满意。所以，她们继续往三楼走。

等她们到了三楼，牌子上写着：“这里的男人都很高，但很丑。”

她们还想要更好的。反正还有两层没看过，她们选择继续向上走。

在四楼，标牌非常完美：“这里的男人都又高又帅。”

女人们很兴奋，打算留在四楼。但当她们意识到还有一层楼没去过，生怕错过了什么。于是，再向五楼走去。

在五楼，她们发现了一块牌子，上面写着：“这里没有男人。这层楼的建造只是为了证明贪心就会吃白粥。”

注：最后一句的原文用词有歧视女性之嫌。中译时避开了对特定性别的嘲讽。因此，题目也改成“贪心吃白粥”这句上海俚语。不过，这句俚语的真正上海说法应该是“黑心吃白粥”。但在书面语中，“黑心”比“贪心”似乎更具罪恶感。不太符合本笑话的场景。

原文： Impossible to Please

A group of girlfriends are on vacation when they see a 5-story hotel with a sign that reads：“For Women Only。”Since they are without their boyfriends and husbands，they decide to go in。

The bouncer，a very attractive guy，explains to them how it works。

“We have 5 floors。Go up floor by floor，and once you find what you are looking for，you can stay there。It's easy to decide since each floor has a sign telling you what's inside。”

So they start going up and on the first floor the sign reads：“All the men on this floor are short and plain。”

The friends laugh and without hesitation move on to the next floor。

The sign on the second floor reads：“All the men here are short and handsome。”

Still，this isn't good enough，so the friends continue on up。

They reach the third floor and the sign reads：“All the men here are tall and plain。”

They still want to do better，and so，knowing there are still two floors left，they continued on up。

On the fourth floor，the sign is perfect：“All the men here are tall and handsome。”

The women get all excited and are going in when they realize that there is still one floor left。Wondering what they are missing，they head on up to the fifth floor。

There they find a sign that reads：“There are no men here。This floor was built only to prove that there is no way to please a woman。”
