两个男人坐在船上钓鱼。船停在一座桥下。

其中一人抬头一看，一支送葬队伍正从桥上经过。他站起身子，摘下帽子，低头默哀。

等队伍过完桥，该男子戴上帽子，拿起鱼竿和绕线轴，继续钓鱼。

另一个男人说：“这太感人了。我不知道你居然也有这种怜悯之心。”

那男人回答：“唉。我想我还是该表达一下的。毕竟，我跟她结婚已经40年了。”

原文： Fisherman Pays His Respects

Two fellas are fishing in a boat under a bridge。

One looks up and sees a funeral procession starting across the bridge。He stands up，takes off his cap，and bows his head。

The procession crosses the bridge and the man puts on his cap，picks up his rod and reel，and continues fishing。

The other guy says：“That was touching。I didn't know you had it in you。”

The first guy responds：“Well，I guess it was the thing to do - after all，I was married to her for 40 years。”
