一个女人走进一家商店，买钓鱼竿和卷线轴作为礼物。

她不知道该买哪种好。所以，她随便抓了一个，走到柜台前。那里有一位带着深色墨镜的店员。

“对不起，先生。”她说，“你能介绍一下有关这根鱼竿和卷轴的情况吗？”

店员说：“女士。我是盲人。但如果你把它放到柜台上，我可以根据它发出的声音告诉你想知道的一切。”

她不相信。但还是把那根鱼竿放到柜台上了。

店员说：“这是一根6英尺长的石墨竿，配有泽布科202卷轴和承重10磅的鱼线……这是一款很好的全能鱼竿和卷轴。只要20美元。”

女士说：“很神奇。你能根据它和柜台接触的声音就知道它的一切。我想这就是我想要的。我就买它。”

他转身从柜台后面走到收银机前。就在这时，那女人放了一个响屁。

一开始，她觉得很尴尬。但很快，她就意识到，他不可能知道是谁放的屁……由于失明，他不知道那时店里只有她一个客人。

店员报出售价说：“25.50美元。”

女士说：“你刚才不是说20美元吗？”

“是的，女士。鱼竿和卷轴是20美元。但鸭鸣器是3美元，臭鲶鱼饵是2.50美元。”

注：鸭鸣器（Duck Call）是一种诱捕水禽的工具。可以模仿鸭子或水禽的叫声，欺骗它们相信附近的诱饵。

原文： Woman Buys a Rod and Reel

A woman goes into a shop to buy a rod and reel as a gift。

She doesn't know which one to get so she just grabs one and goes over to the counter where there's a shop assistant wearing dark shades。

“Excuse me sir。”she says，“can you tell me anything about this rod and reel？”

The assistant replies：“Ma'am I'm blind but if you drop it on the counter I can tell you everything you need to know about it from the sound it makes。”

She didn't believe him，but dropped it on the counter anyway。

He said：“That's a 6' graphite rod with a Zebco 202 reel and 10 lb test line……It's a good all around rod and reel and it's only $20.00。”

The lady said：“It's amazing that you can tell all that just by the sound of it dropping on the counter。I think it's what I'm looking for so I'll take it。”

He walks behind the counter to the register，and in the meantime the woman breaks wind big-time。

At first she is embarrassed but then realizes that there is no way he could tell it was her……being blind he wouldn't know that she was the only person around。

The assistant rings up the sale and says：“That will be $25.50。”

She says：“But didn't you say it was $20.00？”

“Yes ma'am，the rod and reel is $20.00，but the duck call is $3.00，and the catfish stink bait is $2.50。”
