一个乡巴佬因出售自酿的威士忌而被捕。

他的律师让他出庭，并要求陪审团成员仔细观察他的当事人。

“现在，陪审团的女士们、先生们。”律师总结道，“你们已经仔细审视了被告。坐在陪审团席位中的你们，能否诚实地告诉我，你们能相信，如果我的当事人有任何威士忌，他会卖掉吗？”

注：英语中的“Redneck”一词，直译为“红脖子”，是对南方那些贫穷，没有受过教育的白人农民的贬称。中文比较合适的对应词为“乡巴佬”。这个词也和“醉酒”、“粗鲁”、“肮脏”等形容词相关联。

A redneck was arrested for selling home-stilled whiskey。

His lawyer put him on the stand and asked the jurors to look carefully at his client。

“Now，Ladies and Gentlemen of the jury。”concluded the lawyer，“you've looked carefully at the defendant。Can you sit there in the jury box and honestly believe that if my client had ANY whiskey he would sell it？”
