我希望我能变成鸟兽
能和它们相处
它们是那么的宁静
那样的知足
我伫立着久久地
凝望着它们
它们不会劳碌无度
也不杞人忧天
它们不会在黑夜中惊醒
为自己的罪过哭泣
也不会喋喋不休地
讨论令人茫然的
对上帝的义务
没有一个贪得无厌
没有一个有疯狂的占有欲
没有一个向另一个屈膝
也不向几千年前的祖宗
跪拜在整个地球上
没有一个有特殊身份
也没有一个忧郁寡欢

I think I could turn and live with animals
they are self-contained
I stand and look at
them long and long
They do not sweat and
whine about their condition
They do not lie awake
in the dark and weep for the sins
They do not make me
sick discussing their duty to God
Not one is
dissatisfied not one is demented
with the mania of
owning things
Not one kneels to
another nor to his kind
that lived thousands
of years ago
Not one is
respectable and
industrious over the
whole earth

我赞美我自己 歌唱我自己
我承担的你也将承担
因为属于我的每一个原子也同样属于你
我闲步 还邀请了我的灵魂
我俯身悠然观察着一片夏日的草叶
我的舌 我血液的每个原子
是在这片土壤
这个空气里形成的
是这里的父母生下的
父母的父母也是在这里生下的
他们的父母也一样
我 现在三十七岁
一生下身体就十分健康
希望永远如此 直到死去
信条和学派暂时不论
且后退一步 明了它们当前的
情况已足 但也决不是忘记
不论我从善从恶
我允许随意发表意见
顺乎自然 保持原始的活力

what they are but never

Iharbor for good or bad
I permit to speak at every
hazard
Nature without check with original
energy
