这周孩子们观看的是:Your body language shapes what you are. (身体动作塑造我们)。下面是孩子们的一些分享。

1.      This talk is really useful in my life. It is about body language. We use body language everyday and body language can show our minds. For example, when we are happy or we win a race, we will do a pose to make us bigger, like to put up our arms. But if we are sad or feel powerless, we try to make our body smaller, like cross our arms and lower our heads. Amy wondered, if our mind can control our body language, what can’t our body language control our minds? After learning about many other people’s body language, she decided to do a test. Amy let about six people make many poses and found that people who do powerful poses will become happy and confident. Just a contrast with people who make powerless poses. So if we want to be powerful everyday, we can try to make a pose for 2 minuets. That will change a lot.

2.      This TED talks is really interesting and it is about body language. Everyone start to learn body language very young, some even start to use body language when they are babies. But body language isn’t that you think. It’s a very erratic language. This language has many good sides, like communicating with others without using so many words and so on. But sometimes it’s erratic and people will get the wrong meaning then their relationship might break. All in all there are many good sides of using body language, so maybe sometimes we should try to use body language as long as we can. I’m sure that will be a lot of fun

3.      I was very effected by this video. I am a girl who usually stays in low-power poses, so I guess this is why everything goes wrong and I feel so unlucky. There has never been someone coming up to me and say, “Your gonna be great!” or something like that. It’s always myself. Now I know I can stand for two minutes in a high-power pose so that I could become more and more confident, powerful and successful. I might just be able to stand in the bathroom for two minutes in a high-power pose before a test.

4.      This weekend, I’ve watched a TED Talk called Amy Cuddy: Your Body Language Shapes Who You Are. I’ve learned that body language is an important part of our communication. Body language can change our attitudes. Positive poses can help us to be more powerful and passive poses can let us feel upset. Body language can show ample information in a nonverbal way, and as a result, body language can easily change other people’s impression of us, for example: many judges prefer the candidates who show positive poses. So I think we need to use some positive body languages, to get us a positive attitude towards life, and to get more prospects for doing well at work.

5.      This talk begins with a humorous way. Amy showed the audience some photos and a short film about Obama and the Prime Minister. It makes me laugh and I remembered them very clearly. It makes me know that body language affects the perception of others, and also change how we look at their own. This talk makes me aware of my body language. I notice that when my teacher criticizes me in front of my class, I never stay straight. Amy shows us a lot of picture. Obviously, low power people always stay overcast—it makes me feel low, too.
