复杂从属连词

由两个或两个以上单词构成的从属连词叫做复杂从属连词这类连词有的是以 that 结尾，如assuming (that), but that, considering (that), except (that), excepting (that), for all (that), given (that), granted (that), granting (that), in that, in order that, insofar that, in the event that, now (that), provided (that), save that, seeing (that), so (that), such that, supposing (that)

还有一些复杂从属连词是以 as 结尾的，如 according as, as far as, as long as, as soon as, forasmuch as, inasmuch as , insofar as, insomuch as 此外还有 as if, as though, in case 等复杂从属连词。例如：

Now that we are alone, we can talk freely.

既然我们现在没有别人，我们可以畅所欲言。

David would do the work provided (that) you would pay him.

大卫就会做这项工作,只要你付钱给他。

It gave him such a shock that his face turned pale.

这使他受到了惊吓，脸都发白了。

His heart beat fast so that he could hardly breathe.

他心跳得很快，几乎不能呼吸。

Seeing (that) he is lawfully old enough tojoin the army, I don't know why you should stop him.

明知他已从法律上看已经成年，可以可以参军，真不知道你为什么要阻止他。

Granted (that) he is not brilliant, he is at least competent.

虽说他不聪明，但他至少有能力。
