每年夏天约有2,500名志愿者，1,500名参赛者以及20万名游客涌入怀俄明州（Wyoming）夏安市（Cheyenne），一睹美国规模最大的庆祝西部传统的户外牛仔节——夏安边疆节（Cheyenne Frontier Days）的盛况。定于7月19日至28日举行的2013年边疆节还将有阿兰﹒杰克逊（Alan Jackson）、卢克﹒布莱恩（Luke Bryan）、托比﹒凯斯（Toby Keith）以及“淘气弗拉兹”乐队（Rascal Flatts）等音乐家前来表演助兴。

除了尽享乡村音乐演唱会及长达九天的牛仔竞技外，游客在第166届夏安边疆节中还能免费品尝到享有盛誉的美式烙饼早餐。节日组织者估计志愿者今年将要准备10万多份美式烙饼和1,800多升枫叶糖浆。美式烙饼早餐从早上7点开始为所有人免费供应。

另一项最受欢迎的景点是老边镇（Old Frontier Town），它的亮点是展示旧式西部风格的商人、手工艺者以及艺术家，以表达对夏安西部传统的敬意。这项为期10天的盛会吸引来成千上万的游客，对夏安当地经济起到了重要的推动作用。

Riding the Rodeo in Wyoming

Some 2,500 volunteers, 1,500 contestants and 200,000 attendees flock to Cheyenne, Wyoming, every summer to witness the largest outdoor rodeo and celebration of Western heritage in the United States — Cheyenne Frontier Days. Taking place July 19–28, the 2013 festival will also feature performances by musicians such as Alan Jackson, Luke Bryan, Toby Keith and Rascal Flatts.

In addition to taking in country music concerts and nine days of rodeo, visitors to the 166th annual Cheyenne Frontier Days can enjoy the famous free pancake breakfasts. Festival organizers estimate that volunteers will serve up more than 100,000 pancakes and 1,800 liters of maple syrup this year. The pancake breakfasts begin at 7 a.m. and are free to all.

Another favorite attraction is Old Frontier Town, which highlights old-fashioned Western merchants, craftspeople and artisans as an homage to Cheyenne’s Western heritage. Attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors, the 10-day event gives an important boost to Cheyenne’s local economy.
