According to Wikipedia : Jalfrezi recipes appeared in
cookbooks of British India as a way of using up leftovers by frying
them with chilli and onion.
This English-language usage derived from the
colloquial Bengali term jhl porhez: jhl means spicy food;
porhez means suitable for a diet.
Jalfrezi is usually prepared by stir-frying the
ingredients, a technique introduced to the region by Chinese
cuisine.

Ingredients:
450 g of Chicken thigh (cubed)
1 Bell pepper/Capsicum
1 Onion
1 tsp minced garlic
1 tsp minced ginger
1 tsp of Cummin Powder
1/2 tsp of Turmeric powder
For Marinate:
1 tsp of Salt
1 tsp of Chili powder
1/2 tsp of turmeric powder
To blend into paste:
1 Green Chili
2 Tomatoes
材料:
450 克 鸡腿肉
1 只 灯笼椒
1 只 洋葱
1 小勺 蒜末
1 小勺 姜末
1 小勺 孜然粉
1/2 小勺 姜黄粉
腌肉料:
1 小勺 盐
1 小勺 辣椒粉
1/2 小勺 姜黄粉
搅拌成糊状:
1 只 辣椒
2 只 西红柿
1. Clean and cut chicken
thigh into cubes, add salt, chili powder and turmeric powder, mix
well and marinate for at least 10 minutes.
2. Cut half the onion info
big pieces, and remaining half into thin slices, also cut the
capsicum into large pieces, remember to remove seeds and
stem.
3. Blend the green chili and
tomatoes into paste.
1. 鸡腿肉洗净切块,加入盐、辣椒粉和姜黄粉拌匀,腌制至少10分钟。
2. 一半的洋葱切大块,剩下一半切成薄片,灯笼椒也切成大块,记得去籽去蒂。
3. 将辣椒和西红柿用搅拌机搅拌成糊状。
4. Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a cooking pan, add minced
ginger, garlic and onion slices and cook until
fragrant.
5. Add 1 tsp of cummin powder, 1/2 tsp of turmeric
powder, and 1/2 tsp of salt into pan, stir well.
6. Add the chicken pieces and cook until it is
hardened and changes color.
7. Add the tomato paste, mix well, turn the heat to
medium and cover with lid, cook for 10 minutes until the chicken is
soft and tender.
8. Add the capsicum and onion pieces, mix well and
serve hot with steamed rice.
4. 锅里烧热2大勺油,加入姜末、蒜末和洋葱片炒香。
5. 将1茶匙孜然粉粉、1/2茶匙姜黄粉和1/2茶匙盐加入拌匀。
6. 加入鸡块煮至变色后加入番茄糊拌匀,转中火盖上盖子,煮10分钟至鸡肉变软。
8. 加入灯笼椒和洋葱块,拌匀后趁热与米饭一起吃。
