英国雷丁大学（University of Reading）气候科学家埃德∙霍金斯（Ed Hawkins）搜集了166年来地球每一个月的气温资料，制作了一个动态可视图表，描绘了一幅令人震惊的景象。

 
自工业化前夕开始，人类使用化石燃料产生的大量具有储热效应的二氧化碳散发到大气层中。地球温度提高2摄氏度就会使全世界进入气候变化的危险区。

科学家预计，全球气温上升2摄氏度将导致长期干旱，产生更恶劣的天气，同时造成海平面上升一米，甚至一米以上。

去年12月国际社会达成巴黎协议（Paris agreement） ，主要目标之一是将气温上升幅度控制在２摄氏度以下，争取不超过1.5摄氏度。

Why is this important? Since pre-industrial times, the burning of fossil fuels has released huge amounts of heat-trapping carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. A global temperature increase of 2 degrees Celsius puts the world well within the climate change “danger zone.”

With that 2 degree increase, scientists project prolonged droughts, more severe weather and sea level rise of up to a meter or more.

One of the chief aims of the December 2015 international Paris agreement is to stop the temperature increase well below 2 degrees Celsius, and to pursue efforts to limit it to 1.5 degrees.
