Built for the 1962 World’s Fair, Seattle’s Space Needle served as a symbol of imagination and innovation. During the fair, more than 2 million people visited the Space Needle. Today, the futuristic tower attracts more than a million visitors a year.

Standing 184 meters tall, the Space Needle offers unparalleled views of Washington state. The Seattle skyline, Puget Sound, Mount Rainier, the Cascade Range and the Olympic Mountains are all visible from the observation deck at 160 meters. Just below sits SkyCity, an acclaimed restaurant that rotates 360 degrees to provide spectacular views to all diners.

The Space Needle offers beautiful views on the ground, too. Chihuly Garden and Glass, a comprehensive collection of glass sculptures by artist Dale Chihuly, is located at the base of the Space Needle. This comprehensive exhibition includes eight galleries of Chihuly’s most significant work, a glass house filled with a 30-meter-long glass installation, and a sculpture garden — all featuring the bold colors and whimsical shapes for which Chihuly is known.
