Niki Swann is a teacher of English, a lover of literature and a beauty queen. She was Ms. Wheelchair Virginia in 2010, spreading a message about the abilities and needs of people with disabilities and advocating greater accommodation of their needs as well as enhanced recognition of their abilities and capabilities.

Employers are equally satisfied with the job performance of workers with disabilities and those without, according to one survey.
Swann completed her year as a beauty queen and now teaches English at a community college as she pursues higher degrees in literature. Her advice: “Accept no boundaries.”
