Americans of Cuban origin are the most geographically concentrated of Hispanic-American groups.
Americans of Cuban origin are the third-largest Hispanic group in the United States, according to the 2010 American Community Survey by the Census Bureau.
They are also the most concentrated, with 67 percent residing in Florida.
Nearly six out of 10 Cuban Americans were born outside the United States, whereas four out of 10 of Hispanics in America overall were born outside the United States.
Cubans have attained a higher level of education than other groups of Hispanic origin in America, with 24 percent completing at least a bachelor’s degree. The median personal earnings for Cubans ages 16 and older were $25,000 per year in 2010, as compared to $20,000 for Hispanics overall and $28,500 for Americans in general.
Americans of Cuban origin are strongly represented in the information and financial services industries in the United States, as well as management and professional fields.
