(US Fish and Wildlife Service)正在全美国举办一些公众活动,促进蜜蜂保护工作、鼓励人们减少使用农药,并种植传粉昆虫需要的各种本土植物。

“Bee” Good to Pollinators

National Pollinator Week encourages everyone to "bee" good to pollinators.

Bees can sting and bugs can be a nuisance, but they are important to our food supply. Along with bats, birds and butterflies, bees are crucial to pollinating the plants that produce some $20 billion worth of food each year.

Yet populations of honeybees and some other wild pollinators are declining as a result of disease, pesticides and loss of habitat.

National Pollinator Week, June 18–24, aims to increase public awareness of these tiny but critical workers in the chain of life. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is hosting public events across the United States to promote honeybee conservation and to encourage people to decrease their use of pesticides and to grow the native plants that pollinators need.

Learn more at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service website.
