做一个美国人意味着什么?Paul Levine, 哥本哈根大学美国文学名誉教授将于本周五下午6:30在北京美国中心就21世纪美国国家认同感的改变一题与大家展开讨论。Paul Levine教授是战后美国简史(Postwar America: A Brief History of Politics, Society, and Culture)的作者,届时他会为前100名参加讲座的听众签名赠书。本次讲座将用英文进行。

Book Signing and Lecture with Prof.Paul Levine:
What it Means to Be an American: National Identity in the 21st Century
Paul Levine, Emeritus Professor of American Literature at Copenhagen University, will discuss the changing American identity in the 21st century, including the topics of multiculturalism, interracialism, and the Obama presidency. He will also sign copies of his latest book, Postwar America: A Brief History of Politics, Society, and Culture. The first 100 attendees will receive a free copy of his book. The lecture and discussion will be conducted in English.
Professor Levine attended Wesleyan and Princeton Universities before receiving a Ph.D. in the History of American Civilization from Harvard, and has taught in the U.S., Canada, Denmark, Hungary, Greece, and China. He formerly served as a Fulbright Professor at East China Normal University, where he helped establish the graduate program in American Studies.
