因为家庭原因搬到北京，因为这个城市真的对我有越来越大的影响所以我留下了。最初我搬到这里时，我的工作是在一部中国电视连续剧中做演员。但是，在拍摄期间，我意识到我的中文没有达标，因此我停止演戏，集中精力在我的中文上。在休息期间，我开始寻找运动团体以保持活力及结识新朋友。我遇到了一个关于橄榄球的讨论题目。我们开始交谈，我们中的5个人（4个美国人和一个澳洲人）凑到一起开始玩，6个月内，我们成了北京腰旗橄榄球联盟，有8支队伍，每队8名队员。在我们第二个成功的赛季之后，人们希望能进行更多运动，于是2011年北京腰旗橄榄球联盟成长为麦士福。现在我们所有的联赛中有400多名队员：夺旗橄榄球，篮球，保龄球，网球以及躲避球。当项目合适时我仍会演戏。2月份我刚刚演完有全明星演员和工作人员阵容的《铁拳男子》中的一个大角色。

我的工作中最好的部分是...能够结识这么多人，看着他们通过麦士福的联赛和活动与他们遇到的人建立新的朋友关系......运动也不是太坏。

我的工作中最具挑战性的部分是...试图在三环内找到负担得起的高质量运动设施，因为在我们搜寻过的每个地方，关系是得到首肯的大部分因素（即使在国际运营的设施中）。

我在中国的生活最喜欢的部分是...不需要有车！在搬到北京之前我住到过亚特兰大（佐治亚理工学院）和洛杉矶。这两个城市完全需要有车才能到各处去。

在中国生活最大的调整是...走在北京的人行道（和街道）上时要扮演现实生活版的道叉工（让青蛙躲开车辆过河的电脑游戏）......哦，还有Old Spice（一香水品牌）的除臭剂！

Bio/Job description

Moved to Beijing because of family and stayed because the city has really grown on me. When I moved out here initially, I worked as an actor on a Chinese TV series. But during the shoot, I realized my Chinese wasn't up to par, so I stopped acting and concentrated on my Chinese. During the break, I started looking for sports groups to stay active and meet new people. I came across a forum topic for American football. We started talking, 5 of us got together to play (4 Americans and an Aussie) and we became Beijing Flag Football within 6 months, with 8 teams of 8 players each. After our 2nd successful season, people wanted to play more sports and BFF grew into mashup in 2011. We're now at a point where we have had over 400 players in all our leagues: flag football, basketball, bowling, tennis and dodgeball. I still act as well when the project fits. I just finished a great role on "The Man with the Iron Fists" in February with an all-star cast and crew.

The best part of my job is…. getting to meet so many people and watching as they create new friendships they've met through mashup leagues and events...and playing sports isn't too bad either.

The most challenging part of my job is …: trying to find affordable and quality athletic facilities within the 3rd ring because everywhere we go searching, guanxi is such a big part of the "yes" (even at internationally-run facilities)

My favorite part of living in China is…: not needing to own a car! I was in Atlanta (Georgia Tech) and LA before I moved to Beijing. Both cities simply required a car to get places.

The biggest adjustment to living in China is …: playing real-life Frogger when walking on the sidewalks (and streets) of Beijing...Oh, and Old Spice deodorant!
