总领事与大鸟的合影 Picture of Consul General Camp with Big Bird

2010年12月15日，美国驻上海总领事康碧翠(Beatrice Camp)女士和苏阿丽参加了芝麻街工作室全新少儿中文节目“芝麻街：大鸟看世界”的首播仪式，该套节目将在哈哈少儿频道首播。以下为苏阿丽为此撰写的博文。


就像在美国长大的很多孩子一样，我幼年最初的记忆就是坐在电视机前看芝麻街节目。那个绿黄的标志，开场的歌曲和彩色的木偶教会了我和同龄的孩子们数数和享 受读书的乐趣。在作为美国领事馆世博事务联络官员在上海世博会工作期间， 我很幸运地能和为专门创作世博会芝麻街特别节目的团队合作，将芝麻街的动物们带到美国馆为参观者带来乐趣。通过这些活动，我能够看到中国的小朋友们也非常 喜欢大鸟和其他的动物，并从中学到了很多东西。

昨天，我很荣幸的陪同总领事康碧翠女士出席了全新中文芝麻街系列节目《大鸟看世界》在上海的启动仪式。这个全新的节目将会在上海哈哈少儿频道播出，并为观 众们带来一个专门为中国小朋友们创作的新伙伴-名叫丽丽的老虎。老虎丽丽、艾摩和大鸟一起将会教小朋友们寻找关于健康、人类身体、自然和环境，以及科学和 探索发现等问题的答案。

在启动仪式上，一群小朋友帮助大鸟找到了他的新朋友老虎丽丽，老虎丽丽作为答谢，教小朋友们说“hello”。与艾摩的“你好”声不同，老虎丽丽用她低沉 的咆哮声吼出了“你好”。孩子们笑得很开心，学着丽丽的“你好”声并与大鸟合影。从他们眼中的开心和笑声中我可以清楚地感觉到这个新的儿童剧将会一如既往 地为中国的孩子们带来欢乐，如同当年带给我快乐一样。

 
Like many children growing up in the U.S., some of my earliest memories of television involve watching Sesame Street.  The green and yellow sign, opening song and colorful Muppets taught me and generations of children to count and to enjoy learning to read.  In my job as the U.S. Consulate’s Expo Liaison Officer during the Shanghai Expo this year, I was lucky enough to work with the team that produced the Sesame Street show at the Expo and partner with them to create memorable appearances of Sesame Street characters at the USA pavilion.  Through these events I was able to see firsthand how Chinese children today also enjoy learning from Elmo and the Sesame Street team.

Yesterday I had the honor of accompanying Consul General Beatrice Camp to the launch of Sesame Workshop’s new Chinese-language production of “Sesame Street: Big Bird Looks at the World” which will be broadcast by Shanghai Toonmax Media Company.  The show will feature a brand new Sesame Street character created only for China — a martial arts expert Muppet called Tiger Lily.  Tiger Lily will join Big Bird and Elmo to teach kids to search for answers to basic questions about the world around them focusing on Health and the Human Body, Nature and the Environment, and Science and Discovery.

At the launch a group of children helped Big Bird find his new friend Tiger Lily and she, in turn, taught them to say hello--unlike Elmo who says “ni hao” Tiger Lily “growls her hello”.  The children laughed with delight and loudly practiced their growling hellos before taking a photo with Big Bird.  It was clear from the joy in their eyes and wide smiles that the show will be as fun for children in China as the original Sesame Street was for me.
