(Lanterns Festival Night)

Tonight, east wind bids thousands of trees flower,

As well as rainfall-like stars shower.

Adorned carriages imbrue streets with sweet smell,

In distance the sounds of flutes and pipes swell.

The moon’s eye lights up at the throng –

Fish-and-dragon-styled lanterns dance all night long.    

Damsels don their unique bejeweled headwear,

Giggling rings here, fragrance flows there.

I’ve been seeking her, in the throng, in every nook,

But in vain till I take a sudden turn to look,

O right there she doth stand alone,

In a dimming corner of the zone.
