包校在过去一年中，举办了一系列主要面对包校家长的周末教育讲座活动。包校希望通过这些活动可以为家长提供更多更新的教育信息和理念，同时增进家长与学校之间，家长与家长之间的切磋和交流，培养一个校内外家长和学校共同参与的教育社区氛围。

    这一系列讲座活动，收到了良好效果，不少家长反映：每场都很成功，每场都很有收获。

   Over the last year, YK Pao School has organised a series of weekend educational events for parents.  The purpose of these events is to reinforce our educational community inside and outside School by offering parents diverse and innovative educational philosophies, building a good relationship between home and School and among the parent community.  We are delighted to have had a very positive response from parents to these events.

2009年包校周末教育讲座回顾

主题一：父亲在教育中的角色

演讲人：Christopher Stuart-Clark，香港中国国际学校创校首任校长，前伊顿公学招生办主任

核心内容：父亲的参与对孩子的成长至关重要，早期参与对孩子的学业和沟通能力都会有很大帮助。

A Father’s Role in Education

Theme: Fathers play a key role in children’s development; fathers can greatly help children, particularly in the early stages by supporting their study and communication skills.

主题二：双文化教育

演讲人：Cathy Bao Bean（包圭漪），华裔学者和作家。著有The Chopsticks-Fork Principle: A Memoir and Manual。

核心内容：从自身经历出发，谈中西文化的区别和融合，以及面对文化冲突的策略。

Theme: Strategies for coping with cultural conflict through drawing on one’s own experiences and discussing the differences and similarities between Chinese and Western cultures.

演讲人：倪谷音，包校校长，愉快教育倡导者，特级校长

核心内容：如何在教育中尊重儿童，遵循儿童发展规律，培养自尊自信的孩子

‘Delight Education’

Ni Guyin, Headmistress of YK Pao School; founder of the ‘Delight Education’ movement; renowned headmistress.

Theme: Respecting children, children’s development, and bringing up self-respecting, confident children.

主题四：双语教育

演讲人：Tarek Razik，前上海协和国际学校校长，上海美国学校高中部前校长

核心内容：从自身作为父亲，教师和教育管理者的经历来讨论双语教育经验。

主题五：孩子的阅读

核心内容：如何培养孩子的阅读兴趣和习惯。哪些书籍适合孩子阅读。

Theme:  How to encourage children’s interest in reading.  Suitable books for children.

主题六：跟大师一起弹钢琴

演讲人：Leslie Howard，著名钢琴家

核心内容：音乐是生命的一部分，学习钢琴不应该是苦差事。
