有限空间里的最大绿化

    新校区位于市中心，闹中取静的地方，寸土寸金，空间资源十分宝贵。但在规划中我们通过精心设计的屋顶花园和前墙立体绿化，最大范围地增加了绿化面积。

注重环保设施和教育

    我们本着低能耗、再生利用、循环利用的环保原则，设计了环保节能系统，一方面切实有效地减少能耗，降低废物排放，同时也有利于随时随处地培养孩子的环保意识。

    汇丰银行很欣赏和认同我们的环保理念，捐款100多万元，帮助我们完成屋顶和墙面的绿化以及雨水收集工程。雨水收集系统的设计美观巧妙：运动场四周白色的“大伞”在为观众遮阳挡雨之外，也是收集雨水的“大碗”，雨水顺流而下，进入下方同时作为观众坐席的“大盒子”中，然后经过特别的过滤系统，用来浇灌微型“有机农场”和微型湿地，节能环保的同时给孩子们展现生态的循环。

    热心教育事业的无锡尚德公司也捐赠了一套迷你太阳能实验发电站，太阳能板放在屋顶上，将太阳能转化成电能，输送到EU（探索）实验室，为实验室提供用电。

    回收系统和太阳能发电系统都是根据教育需要而进行细节设计的，其中的雨水回收的各个环节，以及太阳能如何转化成电能的过程，都透明直观，让孩子可以直接观察和了解。

Green Space

    The new campus is in a quiet corner of Shanghai’s busy downtown area.  Land prices are high, making space a premium.  But we have made every effort to offer as much green space in the campus as possible through roof gardens and green walls.

Sustainable Features

    The core principles of sustainability in our campus design are recycling, reuse and reducing energy use.  On one hand we are working to make sure that we tangibly reduce our energy consumption and emissions, and on the other hand, we are trying to build a campus where students will build on their awareness of sustainability wherever they go on the campus.

    We have received a generous donation from HSBC of RMB1,000,000 for a green roof, green walls and a rainwater collection system.

    The design of the rainwater collection system is rather interesting: at the four corners of the sports pitch there are large white inverted ‘umbrellas’.  Not only do they shade spectators from the sun and rain but they also collect rainwater.  Water flows inside into a large tank where the spectators sit, and through a filtration system.  The water is then used for watering the ‘organic vegetable patches’, irrigating the miniature ‘wetland’, reducing resource use and creating an ecologically friendly environment.

    Suntech, a solar energy company who have a history of supporting education, have donated a miniature solar generator and laboratory.  The panels will be placed on the roof.  Energy will be transformed into electricity and transmitted to power the EU laboratory.

    The rainwater recycling system and the solar energy system have been designed to meet our educational requirements in such a way that children can clearly observe these processes.

    在包校文化中，持恒健身一直是一个非常重要的内容。包校创办者苏文骏先生本人即自幼练习游泳，后来成为牛津大学游泳队队长，香港水球队成员。他说游泳的习惯除了让他有充沛的精力之外，更是他在工作压力太大的时候“泄压”，改善心情的手段。

    上海市政府将游泳作为学生的基本体育和生存技能，鼓励中小学生学习游泳，达到“人人会游泳”的目标。包校新建的游泳池从深度到尺寸的设计都考虑到孩子的需求，相信能让包校学生受益匪浅。

A Swimming Pool

    At YK Pao School, leading a healthy and active life is very important.  Co-Founder of the School, Philip Sohmen, started swimming at a young age before becoming the Captain of the Oxford University Swimming Team and going on to play for the Hong Kong Water Polo team.  He believes that swimming is not only an excellent way to stay healthy but is a good way to relieve stress.
