We finally reached Ijen Plateau from Bromo Tengger Semeru
National Park after an 8-hour tiring journey by bus. All of us were
impressed by the amazing scenery on the mountain, where we stayed
overnight.

The local driver woke us up at midnight and drove us to the gathering point, where tourists usually started to go hiking.

The closer we got to the bottom of Ijen volcano, the thicker the sulfur was in the air. Our local guide strongly recommended us to wear masks to protect ourselves.
It was amazing to witness the fresh sulfur stalactite shaping
even though we made a big risk to suffer from the thick sulfur.
Many local people make a living by trading them.

In fact, suffering from at least 8 hours of a tough journey, tourists flock to Ijen just for the miraculous electric-blue flame. The blue fire is ignited sulfuric gas, which emerges from cracks at temperatures up to 600
The flames can be up to five meters high; some of the gas
condenses to liquid and is still ignited. It is the largest blue
flame area in the world and local people refer to it as 'Blue
Fire'.
It turned into a little bright when we stood on the top of the
mountain. We were shocked to see such stunning lake
view.

The lake is recognised as the largest highly acidic crater
lake in the world. It is also a source for the river Banyupahit,
resulting in highly acidic and metal-enriched river water, which
has a significant detrimental effect on the downstream river
ecosystem.
A 2-hour hike is required to reach the rim of the crater,
followed by a 45-minute hike down to the back of the crater.

We really had a good time together with two Poles, one Japanese on hiking and took a memorable photo when we had to say good bye to each other.

We were waiting for bus for Denpasar, Bali in the front of local family and saw a child is playing by himself.

The Ketapang Port is connecting Ijen and Bali.

We were on the ferry to Bali.
Half an hour later, we were on Bali island.
