As we know, Guilin has wonderful landscapes especially mountain & water as the best as we can image, but tourists often miss its culture and history. Prince City Scenic Area/王城景区 is the best attraction, where tourists can experience Guilin history happened hundreds years ago.

Prince City was first built in 1372 in Ming Dynasty and it took almost 20 years to complete it. Unfortunately, it was destroyed several times in the history and was ruined in a fire in 1944.

Prince City has been a well-known attraction since it was built. Many celebrities came to visit and many poems, literature and stone caving were left behind.  

Prince City was the biggest examination hall in fendal China/贡院 in Southwestern China in Ming and Qing Dynasty. It was memorable when I was asked to experience the imitated test.    

Solitary Peak/独秀峰 is just located at the center, where other mountains are surrounded in downtown Guilin. 

The stone sculpture looks very harmonious, which depicts a turtle is so friendly with a snake. 

Solitary Peak is not high, but it is a good point to overlook the whole city of Guilin. This is the reason why people call it the top 1 peak in Guilin.

East and West Lane/东西巷 is right at the bottom of Prince City, which is a new reconstructed attraction. There are a lot of awesome restaurant and boutique shops in East and West Lane. 

Guilin is not big, so it is best way to experience it by walking and bicycles. I strongly recommend to try the public bicycles, which are easy to be taken and returned by Wechat.

Guilin is a typical & popular tourist destination in China. We will discover more if we slow down our paces in Guilin.
