YAMA
Ahimsa - Respect everything and everyone around you including plants and animals
Satya - Be honest and mean what you say
Asteya - Never steal money, trust or a relationship from another
Brahmacharya - Do not overindulge of things including sex, food and power for self or social satisfaction
Aparigrapha - Be free of greed and live simply
NIYAMA
The path of self-restraint includes:
Shauch - Keep your body and mind clean
Santosh - Do you best in every task and be happy with it
Tapa -
Swadhaya- self study and everyday analysis that u did wrong or right.
Ishwara Paridhana – self-surrender to your Guru .
ASANA
Asana is made up of 84 physical postures
performed to strengthen the body and increase health so you can be
steady in meditation.
PRANAYAMA
The practice of controlled breathing performed to increase one's life energy.
PRATYAHARA
Yogis train their senses to
remain quiet including sight, smell, hearing, touch and
taste.
DHARANA
Focus on the concentration required for deep meditation.
DHYANA
The step that achieves yoga meditation.
SAMADHI
The final step where unity with the universe is attained.
