林徽因是著名女诗人。她1919年随父去英国，1921年回国。1923年赴美国留学，入宾夕法尼亚大学学习建筑，后入耶鲁大学戏剧学院学习舞台美术。1928年回国，参与创办文艺刊物《绿》。1930年后在东北大学、燕京大学任教。30年代从事诗歌创作，为新月派成员之一。主要作品有：小说《九十九度中》，散文《窗子以外》，剧本《梅真和他们》。建国后任清华大学建筑系教授。

Lin Huiyin, originally named Huiyin, a native of Minhou, Fujian Province, was born in 1903.

Lin Huiyin, a famous poetess, went to the United Kingdom with her father in 1919 and returned to China in 1921. She went to the United States for study in 1923, majoringat architecture in the University of Pennsylvania, later studying stage art in the College of Theatre, Yale University. She returned to China in 1928, participating in establishment of a literary magazine, Green. She had been teaching in the Northeaster University and Yenching University since 1930. She was engaged in poetry writing as the key member of Crescent School in the 1930s. She was the author of several books including a novel of Ninety-Nine Degree, collected essays of Outside Windowand a screenplay of Meizhen and Them. She served as the Professor of Architecture in Qinghua University after the founding of the People's Republic of China.
