吴奔星，1913年生，湖南安化县人。北平师范大学文学院国文学系毕业。20世纪30年代在北平创办诗刊《小雅》。1949年后，历任武汉大学、江苏师范学院、南京师范学院、徐州师范学院和南京师范大学中国语言文学系教授。现为中国作家协会会员、中国诗歌学会理事、江苏省作家协会顾问、江苏省《扬子江》诗刊顾问。出版有《春焰》、《暮霭》、《都市是死海》、《奔星集》、《人生口哨》、《双贝集》、《吴奔星新旧诗选》、《文学作品研究》、《茅盾小说讲话》、《中国现代诗人论》、《钱玄同研究》、《文学风格流派论》、《诗美鉴赏学》、《虚实美学新探》等诗集和文论集20余部。

Wu Benxing, a native of Anhua County in Hunan Province, was born in 1913. He graduated from the Chinese department of Literature Istitute of Beijing Normal University. He set a poetry magazine named Grace in Beijing in 1930s. He was the professor of Chinese Linguistic Literature Department of wuhan University, Jiangsu Normal Institute, Nanjing Normal Institute, Xuzhou Normal Institute and Nanjing Normal University after 1949. He is now a member of Chinese Writers’ Association, a syndic of China poetry Association, a syndic of China Poetry Association, a consultant of Jiangsu Writers’ Association and a consultant of poetry magazine Yangzte River of Jiangsu. He has published more than 20 selected verses and theories including Spring Flame, Evening Mist, City Is The Dead Sea, Selected Verses By Wu Benxing, Life Whistle, Collection Of Two Shells, Selected Old And Modern Poetry Of Wu Benxing, Literary Works Research, A Speech about Maodun’s Stories, The Theory Of Chinese Modern Poets, Research On Qian Xuantong, Theory On The Styles and Genres of Literature, Appreciation of the Beauty of the Poetry and New Exploration on the False and True Aesthetics.
