昨天，Valerie  问我起的中文博客昵称的意思，告诉她是阳光下的懒日子是指在这普罗旺斯的日子很懒散。她立即说，懒惰在法语里有点贬义，你因该说DOUCE VIE。想一想中文的意思因该是柔和，甜美和悠闲的生活。其实比较可爱的一个名字。但却让我立即联想到普罗旺斯人的生活方式，他们总是以上帝赐给他们的好天气而自豪，他们很厌恶那种每日要花上时间挤地铁上班的日子，他们工作得很慢（上个星期工人花了4个小时安装我家里厨房的5个电插头，要是换在中国估计最多用1个小时）但却不承认他们的懒惰，因为他们需要把事情做得完美，因为他们有的是时间，还因为他们的身体不适应过快的速度，总之他们总能为他们的过错找出一堆理由。

上个月当我跟邻居提到，我可能考虑搬回巴黎去生活，他们立即说我疯了，你怎么可以搬到北部，那个寒冷，没有阳光，而且常下雨的地方。于是我感到困惑，到底哪里是个理想的居住地？我确实喜爱巴黎这样的城市，你可以感受到城市的动感，那不是一个静止的城市，我也喜爱普罗旺斯的生活，蜷在沙发上看着书享受着阳光，周末还可以去LUBERON和朋友们打高尔夫。顿时我意识我太贪心了，我想同时拥有两种不同的生活。

Yesterday, Valerie asked me the meaning of my blog nickname. The direct translation from Chinese could be Lazy Life under Sun. Immediately she opposed “ lazy is not a positive word in French, you should say douce vie”. Douce Vie, it means soft, sweet or gentle life. Yes she is right, it is cute to call in this way. Then I got the association with the Provencal life style. People are proud of the good weather given from the god, they hate to spend hours in the underway to go to work everyday. They work slowly (last week, the worker spent 4 hours to install five plugs in my kitchen), but they do not admit their laziness, because they should do it perfect, because they have plenty of time, because their body could not adapt the high speed, and they always can find the excuses for their mistakes….. Last month, when I told my neighbors that I was considering moving back Paris to work. They thought that it was a crazy idea to move to the north, a cold place, without sun and often raining. I am becoming confused, where is an ideal place to live? I love Paris, love to see the city moving, also I enjoy much the life in Provence, lie in the couch to read, go to play the golf with friends in Luberon during the weekend…So, I realize that I am so demanding, I need to have two different life at the same time….
