Unnecessary Sophistry
( 18. TCM, Not Only The
Traditional)
TCM (
Traditional Chinese Medicine ) can
effectively
treat many diseases, which
has been proven by numerous
facts and
is constantly
being reported on television.
But strangely
enough, now, some guys
still often
say:
"There are only modern
medicine and
traditional medicine, no such
thing
as TCM or western
medicine.
TCM is
traditional medicine "
Such words may
sound reasonable, but in
fact, those
guys deliberately use such
words to belittle TCM
.
This article
will briefly discuss such issues:
1. Let's take a
look back at history, it
was precisely because of the
emergence
of western
medicine that our medicine
had to
be renamed as TCM.
How did it
become a mistake for TCM
again
?
2. However, the
title of traditional
Chinese medicine is also
precisely
fitting.
As the name of
our medicine, TCM does
have the
following three functions:
2.1
Highlighting the national
characteristics
of our
TCM.
2.2
Highlighting the regional
characteristics
of our
TCM.
2.3
Accurately expresses the main
characteristics
of TCM
in treating diseases and maintaining
health:
Using Chinese
wisdom to guide doctors in
treating
diseases and saving lives, namely,
The principle
of TCM in treating diseases is
to eliminate
unhealthy factors, which cause
the disease,
strengthen the body and its
physiological
mechanism, coordinate the
functions of
organs and meridians, thereby
correcting the
imbalance of yin and yang,
and restoring
the body to a normal state
of smoothed yin
and protected yang .
3.
Perhaps some guys have discovered
that
a shortcut to ruin TCM is
to first define
TCM as
traditional medicine and then
eliminate it. Its intentions are
so
malicious !
Simply put, they ruin TCM
in two steps:
The first step is to send
TCM to the history
museum.
The second step is to
rename this historical
museum as
"Toilet".
Obviously, the
first step in this process is
quite difficult, while the
second step is
exceptionally simple.
Their
predecessors dealt with other
traditional medicine in this way, and
it
was very
successful.
Therefore, for
those guys who always want
to ruin
TCM, they seem to have a
great
chance of winning by doing
so.
4. It should be
admitted that their trick
is indeed very cunning,
because once
TCMis only regarded as
traditional
medicine, they
will achieve the following
goals:
4.1 Separating the ethnic
and regional
attributes of TCM may
deprive it of the
soil for growth and development
space,
thus potentially leading
to countdown
to the end of
TCM.
4.2 Separating the ethnic
and regional
attributes of TCM allows
those guys to
more recklessly ruin TCM
even more
ruthlessly because there
is no risk for
them any more
!
4.3 Equating
TCM with traditional
medicine invisibly labels it as
outdated
and
useless.
Thus,it is only natural
to send TCM
to a
history museum.
Because in the eyes of
those guys ,
development is the patent
of western
medicine, while TCM is
the very thing
sent to historical
museums.
It can be seen
that under the driving
force of
scams such as "Drawing
conclusions first, making
excuses
later,
ignoring facts and all the
therapeutic effects", any
bizarre
words can
be made seem reasonable
by them
!
5. In fact, if
we look at the professional
divisions of
our various medical schools
or the
departmental classifications of
our major
hospitals now, there is no
such things as
"modern medicine" or
"traditional
medicine", which are
completely
fabricated by those guys !
It can be seen
how despicable this
kind of random
fabrication is !
Or we can think
about it more :
Why can western
medicine use any term
they like
casually, while when it comes
to TCM, it must be referred
to as
traditional medicine
?
When discussing
medical science, we
should first
discuss the effectiveness
of treating
diseases, and what is the
point of
playing word games like they
do
?
Isn't this just
teasing patients ?
6. So, as
doctors, patients or potential
patients, how
should we view such issues ?
We should
clearly recognize the following
principles:
Firstly,
TCM originates from
traditional
medicine,
but it is not just
traditional
medicine
!
It's like a
person's growth, any person has
experienced
childhood, but he shouldn't
always think of
himself as a child.
Secondly,
as long as we adhere to the
core
principles of medical science,
which
are based
on facts, guided by
therapeutic
effects,
patient-centered and
dedicated
to
treating diseases, our TCM can
fully
integrate
the strengths of traditional
and
modern medicine, and develop
into a
truly modern medical
science,
instead
of always hovering at the
level
of
medical technology like
current
western
medicine, which is just a
hodgepodge of various technologies
!
Regarding these, we only
need to pay attention
to
recent events such as influenza to
understand.
By
analyzing a large number of such facts,
we
can
easily understand that TCM has the
full
opportunity to grow into
a true medical
science
that combines traditional and
modern
medicine.
Whether
as patients, potential patients,
physicians of TCM or
western medicine,
we
should welcome the arrival of such
a brand
new medical science, or at least
not try
the most to obstruct its
development
!
