Unnecessary Sophistry
( 19. Autonomy In
Formulating
TCM's Standards .1)
TCM (
Traditional Chinese Medicine ) can
effectively
treat many diseases, which has
been proven by
numerous facts and is
constantly
being reported on television.
It is strange
that those who always want
to ruin TCM
often use international
standards to
discredit TCM, such as
double-blind
experiments.
It should be
acknowledged that such traps
are indeed very
deep, to the point where
many people
have been helpless even till
now.
The root cause
is that we have all been
misled by the
medical technology of
western
medicine !
Objectively
speaking, double-blind
experiments are
indeed an effective
method for
verifying the effectiveness
of western
medicine.
But drug
effectiveness verification
methods are by
no means unique,
and
double-blind experiments are
just one of
them.
At the same
time, we should also
consider the
following facts:
Any treatment
plan TCM should be
changed
according to patients, time
factors and
local conditions, and
based on the
patient's symptoms for
syndrome
differentiation and treatment.
This effective
treatment method has been
proven by a
large number of actual cases.
In fact, this
effective treatment method
has put forward
stricter requirements
for
double-blind experiments.
Unfortunately,
so far, this effective
treatment
method is almost incompatible
with the
technical specifications of
double-blind
experiments, to the extent
that
double-blind experiments are not
suitable for
examining the effectiveness
of TCM in
treating diseases !
So, on the one
hand, the effectiveness
of traditional
Chinese medicine in treating
diseases
objectively exists, but on the
other hand,
double-blind experiments
cannot verify
or explain this large number
of objective
facts.
This alone is
enough to prove that
double-blind
experiments are not perfect:
Double blind
experiments cannot reflect
all objective
facts in the objective world
at all
!
thus it can be
seen:
The
effectiveness of traditional Chinese
medicine in
treating diseases does not
need to be
limited to double-blind
experiments
!
Therefore, we
must re-examine medical
standards:
What
should be the basis for
medical
standards
?
Obviously, any medical standard
must
be based
on facts and validity, not
on something like
double-blind
experiments !
Double blind
experiments are only one
method for
verifying the effectiveness
of drug
treatment.
This method may
not be able to discover
statistical
characteristics of certain
treatment
methods
But this
does not mean that
double-blind
experiments have the right to deny
a
large number of objective
facts for a
long
time.
Namely,
it does not mean that
double-blind
experiments have the right to deny a
large
number of
objective facts about the
effective treatment of diseases
by TCM for
a
long time.
Even if we look
back at the history of
technological
development, we can
understand it
better.
In the history
of technological development,
there are often
precedents like this:
If an
experimental method cannot verify
certain facts
that appear in large quantities,
then the
experimental conditions can be
changed, or
simply a different experimental
method can be
used.
But the invalid
experimental method must
not order a
large amount of facts to make
way to ensure
its authority for a long time.
In fact, in the
face of a large number of
objective facts
that traditional Chinese
medicine can
effectively treat diseases,
the
double-blind experiments of western
medicine have
enjoyed this authority for
too long so
that such an authority has
long hindered
the development of
medical
science.
A careful
review of the long-term sufferings
of TCM will
help to understand this point.
