Letter，是很美丽的……

 

   写信，一直是人生中的一件快事，到现在为止，我们学习很多的东西是从书信中学到的，因为有着真情实感。

 

　　海明威在给他的母亲的第一封信中是这样描述自己的处境的：

 

　　Dear Mother,

 

   I just got you letter today,I was beginning to wonder why I didn't hear from the folks but the tranins have all been tied up in bad shape.It was 20degrees below bere too tho (though) not so much snow.In Kansas they had two or three feet in most of the country.No trains got thur(through) at all from the West to East . We werer sure cut lff for a while.The coal shortage id still pretty bad here. However we should cogitate for it will soon be spring.Now dry those tears Mother and cheer up.

 

 亲爱的妈妈：

 

　　今天我刚刚收到你的信，在此之前，我正在奇怪，怎么没有你们的音讯呢。不过，火车全都歪七扭八地瘫在那里。这里的气温也是20度以下，但是雪下得不多。在堪萨斯大部分地方的雪该有两三英尺深了吧。没有火车能从西海岸一直开到东海岸。我们肯定会有一段时间能见面。这里缺煤的情况还是很严重。不过我们会精打细算，因为很快就是春天了。好啦，妈妈，现在擦干净眼泪，快乐起来吧。
