《小社会》

路边行人、收废品的、乞丐、被驱赶的、出卖劳力或身体的人，沉重的往昔和飘渺的未来……这些与我们有着怎样的关系？《小社会》(第一、二卷)，不求再现，只求在急速的前行和撕裂中，让剧场排演，重建过去、现在与未来的联系，重建人和他人的联系，重建人和角色的联系。

《小社会》系列创作始于2009年初，已完成《小社会第一卷》和《小社会第二卷》两部戏。这是中国当下文化环境里，我们重要的直逼现实的社会剧场作品，由剧组集体创作。2011年新一版的《小社会》(第一、二卷)集三年心血，不止是对前两卷创作的整合，更是在重重困扰中新的出发。

The Little Society

Passers-by, rag-pickers, beggars, outcasts, the sellers of labor power, sellers of their own bodies, those recalling the past with heavy heart or imagining some misty and unformed future... what do they have to do with us? In The Little Society (Volume I and II) does not seek to represent society, but rather, in the midst of the onward rush and rending of our present times, to allow the space of the theater to become a scene for the reimagination of connections between past, present, and future, of the connections between different people, and for the reimagination of the connection between performer and character.

The The Little Society series began early in 2009, and has included two complete productions, The Little Society, Volume I, and The Little Society, Volume II. These works of social theater represent our efforts to directly confront contemporary society. The members of the collective created the pieces collectively. The Little Society (Volume I and II) thus brings together three years of work, and is not simply a combination of the earlier works, but represents a new beginning, in the context of a range of concerns in contemporary China.
