Teaching Procedures
Step 1 Presentation
Millie wants to interview three students about the TV programs they like. So she wrote down what she knows about these students before the interview. Please read the profiles of the three students in Part A1 on page 70. The table will give you an idea of each interviewee’s interests.
Step 2 Listening and Practice
You need to complete all the information in part A2 on page 70 by listening carefully to the recording. Before listening, read the information carefully.
Play the recording once without stopping. Then play the recording again stopping after each answer so that less able students can write their answers, especially for weaker classes.
Play the recording once more without stopping for students to check their answers, and then ask students to read one answer each, check for mistakes and mispronunciation.
Step 3Presentation
Part A3 on page 75 is Millie’s report about the interviews on page 74. All the information is
already on page 74. For weaker classes, students can work in pairs, for stronger classes, students can work on their own.
Step 4 Practice
Read Millie’s report carefully and try to remember the main idea.
Step 5Extension Activity
1. Ask students to conduct their own interviews with their classmates. They can also interview people in their family if they wish.
2. Tell students to complete a profile like the one on the top of page 74, showing what they already know about a person.
3. Students should then find out the same information that Millie found out from her classmates.
The answers can be presented in the same way as on page 74.
4. More able students can complete this task independently. Less able students can work in pairs.
