勒贝格测度是什么？

仔细想想，实数直线上的“点集”多种多样，形态各异。怎么度量“点集”的长度？“点集”的勒贝格可测性是什么意思？

A Lebesgue measurable set（可测集） can be "squeezed"（挤压） between a containing open set（开集） and a contained closed set（闭集）. This property has been used as an alternative（另一种） definition of Lebesgue measurability（可测性）.

More precisely, E ⊂ R is Lebesgue measurable if and only if for every ϵ > 0  there exist an open set G and a closed set F such that F ⊂ E ⊂ G  and  λ ( G ∖ F ) < ϵ

表达式“λ ( G ∖ F ) < ϵ ”是什么意思呢？这里的希腊字母“λ”表示“l”（长度），而G ∖ F表示集合F相对于G的“补集”。

                   问题归结为：什么是开集？什么是闭集？知道开区间、闭区间是什么意思，就差不多了。
