中美小笔友交流7：费城Emily--北京成长的豆豆

Dear Luo Yuqing,

Hi! My name is Emily. My friends call me Emmy. My Chinese name is Yuan, Wanhua. I am 8 years old and in 3rd grade. I was born in Nanning,China, but have lived in the USA since I was one year old.

Like you, I love to draw and read. My hobbies also include ice skating, horseback riding and fishing. My favorite colors are blue, black hot pink and lime green.

I wake up at 6:30 AM. I take a yellow school bus to school. My first class is reading, spelling and writing. I have lunch at 11:00 AM in school. After lunch I have math, then we have specials (Spanish or Mandarin, music art or computers). We have math again, then science and social studies. Dismissal is at 3PM. I have gym on Tuesdays.

What is Chinese lizard?

I do play an instrument. I play the viola, which looks like a violin, but it's bigger in size and lower in sound.

On Sundays I go to a school where I learn to speak, read and write Mandarin. I also learn Chinese dance with a lot of girls. We are called the Mei-Mei Dancers.

Do you have any afternoon activities? I take drama, enrichment & Chinese Club after school. I also take ice skating lessons. I will be in the school play "The Wizard of Oz".

What is your favorite food? I have a lot of favorites: pizza, fruit salad, bacon, General Tso Chicken & white rice.

Do you have any pets? I have a pet cat named Rainbow and a parakeet named Birdie Bird,

你下午有没有什么活动呢？我有舞台剧、丰富课余和中国文化俱乐部。我还上滑冰课。我马上就要出演学校的舞台剧“绿野仙踪”了。

你最喜欢什么食物呢？我有很多喜欢吃的东西：披萨，水果沙拉，培根，鸡肉和白米饭。
