《哈他瑜珈之光》(于伽英文譯本)1.1: Salutation to Âdinâtha (Śiva) who expoundedthe knowledge of Hatha Yoga, which like a staircase leads theaspirant to the high pinnacled Râja Yoga. 

向詮釋了哈他瑜珈知識的阿迪納塔(希瓦)致敬,哈他瑜珈就像是階梯領引著精進者攀登至高的勝王瑜珈。

The room should have a small door, be free from holes, hollows,neither too high nor too low, well plastered with cow-dung and freefrom dirt, filth and insects. On its outside there should bebowers, raised platform (chabootra), a well, and a compound. Thesecharacteristics of a room for Hatha Yogis have been described byadepts in the practice of Hatha.

房間必須有一個小門,不能有洞、坑,不要太高也不要太低,塗以牛糞,以免灰塵、污垢和蟲害。屋外應該有涼亭、平台、井和院子。對於哈他瑜珈士而言,這些房屋特色被在哈他瑜珈修行中有成就者所描述。

Swastika-asana吉祥式

One foot is to be placed on the thigh of the opposite side; andso also the other foot on the opposite thigh. This is calledVirasana.

Taking the posture of Padma-asana and carrying the hands underthe thighs, when the Yogi raises himself above the ground, with hispalms resting on the ground, it becomesKukkuta-asana.採取蓮花式,把手插入大腿下方,當瑜珈士手掌支撐地面並將身體舉起離開地面時,就是公雞式。

Utaana Kurma-asana.

Having assumed the Kukkuta-asana, when one grasps his neck bycrossing his hands behind his head, and lies in this posture withhis back touching the ground, it becomes Uttana Kurma-asana, fromits appearance like that of atortoise.採取公雞式,交叉手在頭後抓住脖子,以這個姿勢躺下接觸地面,就像烏龜一樣,是仰臥龜式。

Dhanura asana.

Paschima Tana.

Mayura-asana.

This asana soon destroyed all diseases, and removes abdominaldisorders, and also those arising from irregularities of phlegm,bile and wind, digests unwholesome food taken in excess, increasesappetite and destroys the most deadlypoison.這個體式可以迅速消除各種疾病,調理腹部失調,也調理那些因痰液,膽汁和氣失調引起的疾病,消化攝入過多的食物,也能增加食慾和消滅可致死的毒素。

Sava-asana.

Laying down on the ground, like a corpse, is called Sava-asana.It removes fatigue and gives rest to themind.躺在地面上,就像屍體,叫做挺屍式。它消除疲勞,給心得以休息。

This is called theSiddha asana, the opener of the door ofsalvation.左腳腳跟穩定抵住會陰,右腳腳跟抵住恥骨。下巴扣於胸口,安靜地坐著,感官內收,凝視眉心。這就是至善坐,解脫之门的開啟。

Padmasana.

This is called the Padmasana, the destroyer of the diseasesof theYamis.右腳放在左大腿上,左腳放在右大腿上,在背後交叉雙手抓大腳趾。下巴抵住胸口凝視鼻尖。這是蓮花坐,可以消除修行者的疾病。

Food heated again, dry, having too much salt, sour, minorgrains, and vegetables that cause burning sensation, should not beeaten. Fire, women, travelling, etc., should beavoided.再加熱的食物,風幹的,過於咸、酸、未成熟、雜糧和引起灼熱感覺的蔬菜,應該避免吃。激情、女人、旅行等,應該避免。

Success cannot be attained by adopting a particular dress(Vesa). It cannot be gained by telling tales. Practice alone is themeans to success. This is true, there is no doubt.

成功不能採取穿奇特的衣服(Vesa ),或借講故事獲得。唯有練習才意味著通向成功。這是事實,毫無疑問。
