Sequencing is highly subjective and does not
follow dogmatic rules. But, a good sequence always takes into
account the needs of students and proceeds accordingly. Here are
some general thoughts to keep in mind as you develop your
craft:

In
order to understand how sequencing works, you must first understand
the effects of the poses that you are teaching. Similarly, you must
explore the effects of sequencing in your home-practice. For
example, you should have an idea of how practicing backbends before
inversions feels and vice versa.

Sequencing includes the mindful application of

are several types of basic sequencing: Sequencing that focus on
opening, strengthening and otherwise developing specific areas of
the body; sequencing that focus on invoking specific physiological
effects, such as deep relaxation or alleviating stress; sequencing
that focus on developing certain poses; sequencing that addresses
therapeutic needs.
