甄妮的战争

虽然双胞胎甄妮和罗斯之间有着强大的纽带，可是她们的母亲在心中只能找到她爱的一个女儿。罗斯，以她金色卷发和活泼的个性，被培养成明星，而安静的甄妮被认为是两个姑娘中较为逊色的一个。

当甄妮用辛勤的劳动打拼出自己的职业，并且为她姐姐的舞蹈团用钢琴伴奏时，罗斯却被妈妈当作偶像崇拜被惯坏了，变得肆无忌惮，等着天上落馅饼。战时的伦敦，模糊的前途在等着如罗斯这样漂亮而易受骗的姑娘，想用较轻松的方式讨生活。尽管甄妮拼命干涉，可是罗斯似乎正迈向堕落的泥坑。

她们的妈妈仍未察觉罗斯的错误和另一个女儿正渴望得到母亲的爱。最后甄妮认识到她必须学会相信自己，并且走出战争的废墟，去寻找属于自己的爱。

Janey's War

Although twins Janey and Rose have a strong bond between them, their mother can only find it in her heart to love one of her daughters.  Rose, with her golden curls and vivacious personality, is groomed for stardom, whereas quiet Janey is considered to be the plainer of the two.  

While Janey carves out a career for herself and plays the piano for her sister's dancing troupe, Rose – idolized by her adoring mother - is spoiled and unscrupulous, waiting for success to drop into her lap.  In wartime London, however, shadowy figures lie in wait for beautiful but gullible girls like Rose, offering easier ways of making a living.  Despite Janey's desperate intervention, it looks as though Rose is on a downward slide into degradation.  

Their mother remains oblivious to Rose's faults, and to her other daughter's yearning for a mother's affection.  So Janey realises she must learn to believe in herself - and try to find a love of her own out of the ruins of war.
