2D or not 2D
Hey y'all!
I have not been the most active person for 2 reasons:
1. schoolwork
2. I've taken on the challenge of trying to draw fanart in a more original, interpretive way and wow! It's harder than it looks. So far all my attempts have been unsuccessful and they all look like the standard fanart that pops up on tumblr. Still an interesting endeavor. I might still post a few doodles, though.
I figured that I might as well post something, however, so here is some work I did in 2D design:

Similar to the last project I posted, we had to make compositions using only silhouettes. We had to make 4 with a focus on contrast, direction, proximity, and color. I didn't post my color one though, because I thought it looked ugly.
That's it for now, I will try to get up some of my studies soon!

Madamoiselle
Back in my anime-drawin' days (specifically early high school), the
only thing that would differentiate the characters I made were
their outfits. But not gonna lie, I became pretty darn good at it.
I did all sorts of really crazy, elaborate designs and I still like
most of them today. Now that I've been focusing on simpler designs,
I took most of my characters and simplified their outfits... But I
still miss designing those crazy outfits. Here's one.
Alexis + studies
I thought I'd tried to tackle one of my mortal and most hated
enemies...
.... CLEAN, DIGITAL LINEART!!!
and its equally horrifying sidekick:
CEL-SHADING!!!

Everything seems to kind of die when I put neat lineart on it. My
gesture is lost, the expressive pen marks are gone, and so on. I
guess you could kind of argue the same happens when you clean up
any sketch, no matter what approach you
take.
Anyway, this is a character I've had since I was a freshman in high
school and recently decided to re-design her a bit. Still
tweaking!
I know her feet/shoes are wrongly placed (at least perspective
class is teaching me something!) along with a dozen other mistakes,
but mistakes are so tedious to fix when you draw this way (so many
layers... THE LAYERS!)
