Sha Yi was born in Chengdu, the capital of the western province
of Sichuan, and studied Chinese at the Normal University in
Beijing. Yi Sha, who already has many publications and poetry
prizes to his credit, writes poetry, essays and short stories. Yi
Sha writes poems on subjects that seem rather pedestrian at first
sight, in a language that is stripped of any artificial
ornamentation.
