1.The Department of East Asian
Studies at Princeton University invites
applications for a full-time position as Senior Lecturer in
Chinese,
beginning September 1, 2012. Applicants must have native or
near-native fluency in Chinese and an excellent command of English.
They should have extensive experience teaching Chinese to
English-speaking students at the college level; experience
directing a language program is preferred (particularly one in
which five levels of Chinese are offered). Our Chinese Language
program enrolls approximately 260 students each semester. Ph.D. or
Ed.D. is required. Salary is competitive.

2.The University of North Dakota invites
applicants for a one-year assistant professor position in Chinese
Language and Culture. Requirements include a
Ph.D. in Chinese linguistics, literature, cultural studies, or
related subject and native or near-native fluency in
Mandarin. Teaching experience
preferred. Responsibilities include teaching language courses and courses on some
aspect of Chinese culture (three courses per semester); carrying
out research, and performing some administrative duties, 100%,
nine-month position, beginning August 16, 2012.

on a three-year renewable basis, effective July 1, 2012. M.A.
degree in language acquisition, Chinese language pedagogy or a
related field is minimally required. Native or

4 The Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at
Indiana University invites applications for a
tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of Chinese Language
and Language Program Coordinator, to begin in Fall
2012. Duties will include coordination of the
core curricula in Chinese Language and Language Pedagogy, teaching
two courses per semester (one or both of which may be team-taught
with associate instructors), and ongoing implementation of new
pedagogical methods and technologies.
Publications relevant to the field are required in consideration
for eventual tenure. Candidates must have a
doctoral degree or clear indication that the degree will be in hand
at the time of appointment. Review of

open until a suitable candidate is found.
