 The Instructor Full-Time is responsible for providing an educational atmosphere where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and psychological growth. This person is responsible for organizing and implementing an instructional program that results in students achieving academic success in accordance with FLVS and state policies and laws.

Adjunct Instructor - Chinese Language

The Language and Culture Program at Soka University of America in Aliso Viejo, California seeks applicants for a part-time, one-semester adjunct instructor position in Chinese language, to begin in September 2008. The position, potentially renewable (for spring semester 2009), is that of an instructor of Mandarin Chinese at the introductory (first- and second-year) level.  Applicant should have native or near-native command of Chinese and adequate fluency in English, and either have earned an MA degree in a relevant field or else have had extensive experience teaching Chinese language in an English-speaking environment.  Please send a letter of application, a C.V., two letters of recommendation, teaching evaluation statistics for one course (if available), and an MP3 file with two-minute sample reading passages in both Chinese and English to:
