It is always a problem to log on to internet when I am traveling. My lap top can not dial up to internet with ADSL, so I have to borrow computers to write emails or blog. At this moment, I am using my enginner Alan's lap top, which only has English input with English system. Even more, his computer can not recognize Chinese, so those messages on my blog are Chinese characters with much strange code.

Well, after 8 month away from racing cars, I am back to the cockpit of my red Lotus today.Finally!

It was a sunny day yesterday in Zhuhai, but it started to rain since very early in the morning. It is good for most of the local people as temperature drops down and air gets fresher. But not for me! It is no good to test a racing car in a wet condition after 8 months of touching no racing cars on any track, especially it is with new set up. It will be unmeaningful if I get familiar with a car in a wet condition to see how it is changed.

But I have to do it. No other choice.

The rain was pouring down since the morning till in the afternoon. The rain is too heavy and we have to wait till it gets mild.

Around 2pm, we finally decided to go out to the track when the rain get much smaller. Anyway, we can not just sit in the track wait for the whole day!

The car feels much more gentle than the last year. Well, then I have to be gentle to this boy too! mutual treatment!

I watch the conditions on the track carefully at the first a couple of laps, then I start to run.

I am with a set of rain tyres and I tried to find their limits. Then there came the first span at T4. I did not figure it out how it happened so I did the same thing again at T4. The car span again. Then I understand which way I can not drive.

The brake is much better than I expected on the wet surface. In which case I get excited about the car, and plan to try how the brake can really go. Then at some safe places, I tried to brake later and harder. Oops, I hit the limited. No good.

The grip of the rain tyres are much better than I expected too. They get me really excited at T14, the last corner and a fast corner. Lap by lap, I enjoy going through T14 more and more, so at 7th lap, I tried to put on the gas a little bit earlier. Oops, again, I swam to the gravel.

The mechanic boys are very good. They clean the gravels in 30 minutes, so I could catch up the last session.

The second seesion goes well. I am faster and faster lap by lap. And finally, I am the fastest car of the day on the track! And it is 10 seconds faster than the second fastest car which is a Honda DC5. I am more than pleased to know that.
